That’s true Li. I do care about it and enjoy it. I was just lacking that joy in the final results for a while. Luckily the last week or so has seen this feeling get a bit better. I just needed a short break from work and the daily grind to get me inspired a bit again.
Your post has three photos that brought giddy smiles to my face -- manequins/fish/dolls -- and several that demand great respect. Isn't that enough of an answer to your question?
Thanks Mark. That is a good answer. I got a chance to spend some time at an excellent Martin Parr exhibition in Seoul. I was there for 3 hours and spent 2 of those hours just sitting with his books. As I walked and flipped through I found myself smiling a lot because I could see parts of my past in many of those photos. Also, some just made me smile regardless.
Certainly what I’m trying to do. Have gotten a few things planned that could be cool. Stuff that has been tucked away in the idea bank for a few years.
I agree with Li Chen. If you weren’t feeling so strongly, it would probably be time to hang it up… oh, that and the fact that the photos make me happy :)
Thanks Scott. I was certainly in a place where that was feeling. Thankfully this post was written and scheduled a over a month ago and the feelings have eased a bit since then and I’ve gotten out shooting. Even shot a few frames that I felt okay with.
